Don't Let Distance Tie You Down

Going to college was a decision my parents made for me, but I chose to travel the distance. I knew coming to Colorado was what I needed. I needed the opportunity to be vulnerable and independent. It was just far enough out of my comfort zone. I am 1700 miles away from my hometown which means there is no driving home for a weekend and I truly had to leave behind what was most familiar to me. My horses were a big chunk of my life. But it was my time to focus on my education and my future. There is a time in place for everything, something I really had to make peace with since coming to CSU. Now is my time to expand my horizon, make new connections and figure out my life. I constantly have to remind myself that all that I left behind will still be there when I am finished.
